Weekend in Review- Flagstaff Trip

This past weekend we went on a quick trip up to Flagstaff. My sister was playing in a tournament up at NAU and so we decided to go up. We went up in 2013 for this same tournament and then we weren't able to go last year so I was really excited to be able to go this year. We decided to go up Saturday afternoon and enjoy a little extra time up north before my sister's game on Sunday afternoon. We also decided to take family pictures while up there just to get a different scenery and since it is right around the girls 2nd and 5th birthdays it worked out great. On Saturday we did a little quick shopping in Flag before beers on the patio at Motherroad with pizza from Pizicletta. Aspen did not sleep well so she had a rough afternoon/night but the weather was amazing. On Sunday morning we took our pictures up at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff with Julia Romano. We just did a quick mini-session but it worked out good because Aspen really wouldn't have lasted any longer. We got a few sneak peaks but I will share more once we get the rest. After pictures we headed to a park for a little playtime where we met my sister and the kids before heading to the game. It was a quick trip but it is so nice up there so it is always worth it. Can't wait for fall in Phoenix to fully arrive!

Everly's First Soccer Game

This year Everly started soccer. She is playing with 3-5 year olds at CCV and has had a couple of practices but Saturday was her first game. My mom, sister and brother were able to make it out despite it being pretty dang hot. It was the middle of the day and her game this Saturday is a bit earlier so hopefully it is not too bad. I was annoyingly nervous watching her. I didn't want to be nervous but I just wanted her to do good. The other team was really good. I think a lot of them had played before. Some of the girl's on Everly's team struggled with even going the right direction. Everly was actually really good at that and never had any problems going the right way. She needs to work on being more aggressive and following through but she did pretty good. She stayed involved and even scored a goal! We were all so excited and she was very proud. I think she is going to just keep on progressing each week and she gets more comfortable and competitive. I can't wait to watch her this Saturday.

Labor Day Weekend in Review

Been a little busy lately so I am just finally getting to posting about the rest of our Labor Day weekend. On Saturday morning I got up and knocked out my first long-ish run in about 2 months. It was still pretty hot but I am glad I got it done. After my run I took Everly to Home Depot for the monthly craft. It was another back to school themed craft. They nailed together some wood into a frame and then put a white board sticker on it to make it a little white board. She painted hers purple and it even came with a little marker. She has been kind of obsessed with it and loves writing on it. We met Justin and Aspen at the mall for some play time before cousin Mae Mae came over for a sleepover. It was definitely a busy household that night but we loved having Mae over. Everly and Aspen slept in Ev's bed since Mae used the crib and they did really well together. It was so cute. On Sunday Everly and I were running more errands and we ended up stopping by to play with Cameron at a gym he goes to occasionally that caters to kids with special needs. Everly had a lot of fun and it was cool to see Cameron enjoy it as well. Monday morning I got in another run and the weather was great. I met the girls for bagels and then took them to the park while Justin went to the gym. Everly learned how to go down the fire pole. It took a lot of coaching but she finally did it on her own but now she is a pro. It was a great long weekend!
