Weekend in Review

This past weekend started a little early for me. I had to leave work early on Friday to take Aspen to the doctor. She has another ear infection. Poor baby. She slept a lot this weekend but it still isn't completely cleared up. We stayed home Friday night and made calzones while watching the US Women's soccer team play. Saturday morning we laid around a bit and then my sister came over to go swimming with Everly. On Saturday night we took Teddy to As You Wish and then we got frozen yogurt after. While getting yogurt some fire fighters came in and Teddy asked them where their truck was so they offered to show the kids there truck. It was super nice and they were all awesome. On Sunday we got some cleaning done and I took Everly to the nearby aquatic center. It was our first time and she loved it. Can't wait to take her back. On Sunday night we went to my sister's for dinner and got the sweetest picture of all 3 girls together and Everly got more splashing time with her boys. I also made a little video from Saturday night using a new video app. Looking forward to a short-work week!

The Greatest Show on Earth

I recently won tickets to the Circus so last night we ended up going. I would have never bought tickets but they were free and I knew Everly would love it. My sister-in-law met us down there since Aspen didn't need her own ticket. Out seats were in the lower-level so I can't complain. We even made it before the show started! Recently Everly had been talking about acrobats so I was excited for her to see some. Aspen wasn't feeling that well (and still isn't today so we are going to the doctor) but she was actually pretty good. She started to get fussy and so I just stood up with her and she was fine. Personally, I like Disney on Ice better (and Frozen comes in January!!!) but one of the upsides to the circus is that they sell beer! We ate before the show but we did buy a snow cone mostly for the souvenir elephant cup (which I plan to eat ice cream out of later). I really liked the elephants because they are so smart and the poodles were kind of cool too. Everly got really into some dancing at one point but by the end of it we were all pretty tired. Everly also asked for my phone during the show so she could take a picture of the animals. It was pretty funny. It is always hard to do things on week nights with two working parents and two kids but it was a pretty fun night and I am glad we went and that Carly was able to go with us!

Photoshoot!

As part of my father's day gift to Justin I secretly had my friend take pictures of the girls. I had been wanting to get pictures of them since I haven't had any taken since they were born( so it was a win-win. We took them at the Marketplace at DC Ranch which is awesome for lots of different backdrops. The girls did pretty good considering it was pretty warm and not the best time of day for them (5 p.m.). I absolutely love the pictures and I think Justin liked them a lot, too. Now I need to turn them into a photo book! Here are a few of them:

Weekend in Review

Last weekend was a hot and fun filled weekend. It started Saturday morning with me doing a 5-mile run with my sisters. That heat is really hindering the summer runs. I was getting faster but that has stalled because of the heat. Glad to be injury free, though! The rest of Saturday was spent at home picking things up. We also made a quick trip to get Cameron's birthday surprise and the girls took a ride on Dumbo at Toys R Us. My sister also came over and took Everly and Cameron for a pre-nap swim. It was kind of nice to have a quiet lunch at home on Saturday. After nap-time we headed to Anthem for Cameron's birthday. It was toasty. The kids had fun which is what is important but I prefer indoor activities or being in a pool, haha. Lots of friends came out to celebrate Cameron. The kids played in the splashpad and took a train ride. Everly loves playing with Rylee who is just a couple of months younger. On Sunday morning Justin ran in a Father's Day race and we met him afterwards for breakfast with my mom and sister. Everly and I went grocery shopping and then she made a father's day mug for her Papa. Later we went to Valle Luna for Father's Day dinner. Justin's sister and her family met us there and it was a nice dinner. There is just never enough time on the weekends, is there???

Happy Father's Day

IMG_7985
Happy Father's Day to Justin! This picture is from earlier this week when Everly insisted on riding like a cowboy and Aspen thought it was hilarious. Justin is one of "those" dads. The good ones. He does so much for the girls and you can tell they love him. Life can definitely get hectic with two kids but he keeps things sane in a house of 3 crazy girls (4 if you count Minnie Bell who is a whole different level of crazy). We absolutely love that we get him home every weekend and we hope he enjoys it too. We are pretty lucky to have ended up with this guy and we hope he knows it and has a nice relaxing Father's Day. Love you, Papa!

9 Month Update

IMG_8006

This past Tuesday Aspen turned 9 months old. Guess what? Still NO TEETH. I know it is completely normal, it is just weird to me since Ev got her first tooth at 7 months. Anyways, regardless of no teeth, we have started her on finger foods since she has been doing so good at eating 3 meals a day. She still loves bananas and can now eat an entire pouch of baby food. She is crawling great and so close to pulling herself up on things. She is still small but growing. She currently weighs 16lbs 3 ounces and is in the 4th percentile for weight. That is big because she was previously not even on the charts. She is also in the 3rd percentile for height and 8th percentile for head size . She is wearing 6-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers. She sleeps great through the night still in her crib. She is generally just a happy baby all of the time. She thinks her sister is hilarious and loves playing with her toys. She also likes being in the shower and has been doing good in the pool so far this summer too. She is still warming up to the splash pad but Everly took awhile too. I am looking forward to trying some new foods with her this month and hopefully she plumps up a bit, haha.

Weekend in Review

Summer is basically here and we are already in full on pool season. On Friday I had the day off so I spent some time with Aspen and took he...
