Weekend in Review

We had a fun little weekend. Saturday morning I went out for a run before Justin had to go to work and did something I rarely ever do. I planned to run 5 miles and ended up extending it to a 10k. I know it is not much more, but I am usually trying to convince myself not to shorten my runs so it is big for me. I was rewarded by seeing a shooting star that I would not have seen had I not extended my run. Kinda cool. After Justin went to work, the girls and I headed out to Scottsdale to watch Teddy's soccer game. He did pretty good especially considering he usually is distracted by Everly. I think Everly is getting excited about starting soccer back up next month. After the game we stopped by the American Girl store because Everly had a gift card from Christmas. She got a bathtub for her baby and an outfit for her doll. We actually made it a pretty quick trip because we looked at catalogs before so we knew what we wanted. On Saturday night my sister watched the girls so Justin and I could have a date night. We had a small dinner at Macaroni grill and then saw Hidden Figures after. It was a good movie and it was nice to have a night to ourselves. The girls love spending time with their cousin Mae so they were happy, too. Sunday morning I had planned a Disney and Donuts morning for the girls. I had seen this other girl do it on social media and I really liked the idea. We basically just ate donuts and watched Beauty and the Beast but it was still special and something that we will definitely be doing again.

Park Meadows 45th Birthday Bash!

Friday night we took the girls back to Everly's school for their 45th Birthday Bash party. They had lots of free activities for the kids and Everly really loves her school so we decided to head over after dinner. Everyone who attended got a free book walk ticket and raffle ticket as well as a little gift bag. We also purchased raffle tickets to enter into a drawing for one of several gift baskets. Hopefully we win! The first thing Everly did was the cupcake decorating because, hello, cupcakes. Justin took Aspen to get popcorn which she inhaled all night long. After the cupcakes we did the book walk. She was really into it and you get to keep walking around until you won and then pick out any book you wanted. She picked out a book she can read which is good because we need more of those. Everly got cotton candy and had her face painted. They had music playing and kids dancing up on the stage and both girls had fun with that. Aspen loves following her sister around. Everly did one last game of pin the tail on the scorpion before we headed back home. It was a fun night and I am glad we went!

Sephora Play!: January

Yay! I got my January Sephora Play last week and it is another great one. This month's theme is "Beaty, Set, Go" and includes products to refresh your beauty routine before, during and after workouts. I love this because I workout 5-6 days a week. I have been loving the Sephora Play box and this month did not let down. I am super excited about the Frixtion Stick because it is awesome and gentle enough to use daily as well as the Clinique almost lipstick in Black Honey because people swear by how well this works with all skin tones. I am also really excited about the Ouai treatment mask because I would probably never buy this (I don't spend a lot of money on hair products) so it is really fun to try. I just love the packaging each month, too. So fun!

Always love moisturizer samples and while this fragrance is a little more floral that I tend to be drawn to, it is nice for work.

Awards Assembly

Last Friday we headed to Everly's school around lunch time for her 2nd semester Awards Assembly. We got an email that she would be receiving an award and it worked out that I was able to go. Everly did not know that we would be there so it was fun to surprise her. Justin used his lunch break to meet Aspen and I there. I had a surprise cookie in my purse to keep Aspen busy and it worked pretty well. Everly ended up receiving an award from the music teacher. Last semester she received one from the art teacher. It was funny because later that night she was singing a song with her sister and she totally added some flare and held the notes longer and we were like, ohhhh that's why you received a music award, haha. It was a fun little visit and we are very proud of our little Kindergartener.

Friday Zoo Day

Last Friday I had the day off from work so I decided to take advantage of the morning and take Aspen to the zoo. On a whim, I called my sister and decided to take my nephew Teddy as well since he doesn't have preschool on Fridays. It ended up being a really fun morning. Teddy and Aspen have an interesting relationship. They don't not get along, but they also don't play together like Ted and Everly or Aspen and Mae. They just coexist, haha. I kept trying to get them to hold hands but they wouldn't do it. We got to see the giraffes, elephant, jaguars, bear, spider monkeys, orangutans and komodo dragon. It started to rain while we were visiting the dragon so we decided to head out before it came down too hard. Here are a few pictures from the morning and a little video.
