Christmas 2014: Christmas Day and the day after...

Overnight on Christmas Eve Everly got pretty sick. She was coughing and having a really hard time breathing. It was so sad. I woke up early and made a delicious pumpkin coffee cake and then went to my sister's to pick up some chest rub for Everly. It did seem to help but her rough night of sleep turned into a kind of sad Christmas morning. It took her forever to even get slightly interested in the presents. Aspen was also starting to catch what Ev had but didn't have a fever yet and was in a good mood. After opening up presents at home we went to my sister in law's house for breakfast. It was delicious as usual! We were not surprised when Everly fell asleep over there and Aspen took a great nap there as well. After that we went home and got ready to go to Justin's aunt's house before going back to my Mom/Sister's for dinner. One of Justin's cousins has young girls and Everly always has fun playing with them. We got over to my sister's just in time for a yummy Ham dinner. We always get a Honeybaked ham. There were lots of cookies and yummy pies for dessert and by the end of the night we were pretty tired. My plan was to work the next day in the afternoon but that didn't end up happening. I took Everly in for an early appointment just to make sure everything was okay and she ended up needing a chest x-ray so they could rule out pneumonia. Thankfully she didn't have that but we did have to give her breathing treatments with the nebulizer, which she hated. She passed her sickness onto her sister and Dad also which is awesome. Somehow I have managed not to get sick but I would much rather me get sick then them anyday! Hopefully next year goes a little more smoothly!

At one point all 3 babies were asleep, and then Remi ruined it. He needs to pick up his napping game.

Ev was actually in a good mood which was good but she hated the nebulizer.

Aspen was such a good baby all day and then Ev passed out next to me on the couch while I was nursing and then didn't even want to wake up for dinner. She was exhausted.

Christmas 2014: Christmas Eve

I am breaking my Christmas posts up because there is just too much to share. While like usual, things didn't go exactly liked I had hoped, we really did have a great Christmas and I am very thankful for everything we have. I worked on Christmas Eve and got out at about 3. I headed home to feed my dogs and then I was meeting the rest of my family at church for Christmas Eve Mass at 4 p.m. We always go to Christmas Eve mass but this was our first time at this church (by my new house) and this was also the earliest we have gone in a while. It was SUPER PACKED and it is a huge church so that means a ton of cars and people. It can be very stressful, however, all of the kids actually did really well. After mass we took some pictures at church and then headed to my sisters/moms. Growing up we always opened presents from aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents on Christmas Eve and so we continue that tradition with lots of appetizers as well instead of a big dinner. We save the big dinner for Christmas night. Everly loved her gifts, especially the scooter from Grandma. I got the boys a kitchen and I hope they get a lot of use out of it. Everly loved her Christmas dress that my mom bought her and wouldn't put on her Christmas jammies, so I guess at least she didn't hate her dress. Aspen got lots of cute clothes and it was a really fun night. I think I like Christmas Eve the most!

Merry Christmas!

IMG_3007

Merry Christmas! I think I am pretty good about staying humble during the holidays but I was recently reminded of how thankful I am that Justin and the girls are healthy and happy. I definitely don't take that for granted. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday and gets lots of time with family! Here is a pic from the girls with Santa when I finally took them last weekend! Noone cried but Everly told Santa she wanted a guitar so yea, we kinda had to go get one this week, haha.

Disneyland Part 3: Christmas in Disneyland and Heading Home

Saturday morning we got up nice and early to prepare for our day at Disneyland. The weather was great and all the rain was gone! We had breakfast at our hotel and walked to the park and even got there before it opened. I was all set and ready to get in line to get fast passes to meet Elsa and Anna from Frozen as soon as they opened the park. It is the only way you can meet them currently, although I think they moved to California Adventure now. I was able to get my fast passes which were for 1:50 in the afternoon but from what I have heard that is not bad. Since we were over in Adventureland at that point we took the time to ride some of the rides that get really busy and don't have fast passes like Peter Pan and Dumbo. FYI, Pinocchio pretty much never gets busy so if all other lines are busy try that! We also got some Toon Time in during the morning and had a blast riding the roller coaster there. I think Cam rode it like 4 times. Everly also got to meet Minnie again in her house. It is always fun trying to get her out of there. My mom was awesome and helped watch the kids while all of us got to go on Big Thunder Railroad which was fun because last time we were there it was closed for maintenance. That ride is surprisingly long, especially when some other rides seem so short!  It was very busy at Disneyland this day and we did not get to do as much as I would have hoped (partially because I was also nursing and we now have 2 kids) but one thing I did get to do was get some of my favorite treats. We got Mickey Beignets and I was so happy they still had pumpkin in season and we also got a dole whip (super sweet so share)! We got to see the parade which the kids love and once again Disney did a great job of making us feel special. At one point Dale and Goofy grabbed Teddy's hands and took him on a decently long walk. All of these other kids wanted to get their attention but they gave it 100% to Teddy and it was completely unsolicited and the sweetest thing. I got a video of most of it, too. In the afternoon we finally got to meet Elsa and Anna. We had to wait 30ish minutes even though we had a fast pass but it was worth it. Everly was a little shy and didn't smile for the pic but I think she was just in awe. She was definitely not scared and right before they left she said, "wait, they didn't see my baby sister!" Um, hello cuteness. I am definitely glad we waited for that. By the evening it got crazy busy in the park like I have never seen it before. The castle and it's a small world are lit up beautifully and there are fireworks and they even have snow on main street which is all great, but no. It is not worth it to deal with all of that craziness. Go during off seasons and go during the week! We will not make that mistake again! I did get to take my mom on the Indiana Jones ride which was really fun and Everly rode with my sister on Astro Blasters and with my mom on Autopia but by the end of the night we were all pretty exhausted. As a Christmas present we got Everly and Aspen custom Mickey ears which are surprisingly not very expensive so I am excited for them to get those tomorrow. Also, after Indian Jones I went to Bengal BBQ right across from the ride and had the most delicious spicy beef skewer and a veggie skewer. Seriously, if you haven't you need to try them. I wanted a corn dog too but like I said it just go soooo crazy there so next time for sure! Also, we got a decently early start the next morning and both girls slept shortly after getting on the road and pretty much made it to Blythe. I got texts from my sister and the boys were doing the same thing in there car. While in Blythe we also made a quick stop at Teddy's Donuts because how could we not! We got back before 3 which was nice because I had time to grocery shop and get some laundry done.  I have like a million pictures from the day but here are a few:
