Sephora Play: May 2017

My May Sephora Play! box came this weekend which means it was a good day. It was the 1st anniversary of the Sephora Play! program and so it came in a cute clear bag. I was super excited to get a Tata Harper product in this month's bag because they used some of that on my skin once while I got my makeup done and it is really nice and the brand is natural and non-toxic. The product in this box was the Tata Harper resurfacing mask which sounds amazing. I love masking. This month also came with a good sized sample of Christophe Robin's Cleansing Purifying Scrub with sea salt for your hair. I am excited to try this because I know I don't take good enough care of my hair. The May box came with the Trestique Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose stick which I used this morning. It is super creamy and very pretty. I was also really excited to see a MILK product in this month's box. The blur stick looks awesome for under foundation. The GrandLips lip plumper looks really cool too because you can combine it with other products to help hydrate your lips. The fragrance sample this month is Nest Black Tulip which I have tried and like despite the fact that it is technically in the floral family. Still super happy with this subscription box and definitely recommend it to anyone who loves trying new makeup/skin products.

Weekend in Review: Mother's Day Edition

I had a wonderful long Mother's Day weekend. I had the day off Friday and after taking Everly to school had a nice day with just Aspen. We went to the park and ran some errands and I treated my self to a little early mother's day present. I actually legitimately needed a new running watch so I decided to just go with an apple watch. On Friday night I played a little 6 v 6 soccer game out on the practice fields at Talking Stick baseball fields and it was really fun. I am hoping to continue playing there throughout the summer because it is cheaper than indoor. Saturday morning I did an 8 mile run before we headed out to Everly's soccer tryout. It is not really a tryout because they only have enough girls to fill the team but it is a good experience for her. After soccer we got the girls stuff ready and met my sister at the splashpad. It actually wasn't too busy so it was a good way for the girls to burn some energy. We were all pretty pooped the rest of the day but I did go see Snatched with my mom. It was funny, but not as good as Trainwreck. Sunday morning I got up for a class at Orange Theory. It was a nice butt-kicking and then after I met Justin and the girls for breakfast at The Rogue Tomato. It was super yummy and Justin and the girls surprised me with a girls trip to see Britney Spears in Vegas in August with my sisters and sister-in-law. I am super excited and was totally surprised. He definitely did good! I took a nap on Sunday and then did a little later afternoon shopping with Everly before heading to my sister's for dinner Sunday night. It was a great weekend and I am ready to take this week!

Nora's First Birthday Party!

Last Sunday we officially celebrated Nora's first birthday with a party at Anthem Community Park. The park has a train, couple of playgrounds and a splash pad. We had a bit of a cold front starting last Sunday and early this week so the splash pad was a no-go. It was a little chillier than we expected it to be but the kids still had a blast. My sister brought bagels, donuts and coffee and Nora chewed on a donut for like 30 minutes. The kids had so much fun at the big playground. We sang Nora happy birthday and she did a decent job digging in to her cake, especially considering that girl is so dang tiny. Her favorite toy was a sippy cup my sister got her. After cake and presents we headed over to the train. The train ride was good and we even got to see an owl that had a nest in a cactus. We hit up the swings before leaving and practically had to drag the kids away because they were having so much fun. It was a great morning. I can't believe little Nora is already one! Now she just needs to start walking!
