Weekend in Review: Memorial Day Weekend 2017

I had a wonderful 4-day Memorial Day Weekend. The girls are still a little young to understand why we have the extra time off but it is not lost on us. We have immense respect for the people who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and safety.

The weekend started with my sisters and the kids coming over for their first swim on Friday night. It was a good little start to the weekend. On Saturday morning I got up for a quick hike before we ran some errands and took the girls to the park. Everly is loving rock climbing. We kept it pretty quiet at home on Saturday night. On Sunday morning I went to the gym and got some grocery shopping done while Justin was working on finishing up the kitchen table he built for my sister (will post later). Sunday evening we had every over for some grilling and pool time. My sister and brother-in-law brought over their slide so that the kids could use it to slide in to the pool. We had to have someone hold it while they went down, but it was a total hit. We had yummy burgers and ended the night with s'mores and fireworks. On Sunday morning we got up early to head to the zoo. It actually wasn't that busy for a holiday weekend so that was nice. Well, the splashed was busy but thankfully summer hours start tomorrow! The little girls had matching shirts that I got them and they looked so cute. When we got home I went to the gym and then Everly wanted to go in the pool again so I hung out with her and got a little sun. We went back to my sister's for some Macaroni Grill takeout Monday night and it was a great end to a long weekend. The best part of Monday off is a short work week following. Even though summers are hot and tough, their is just something fun about all of the pool time! Here are a few pictures and a little video from the weekend:

Everly's Kindergarten Graduation

On Wednesday we headed to Everly's school for her Kindergarten Graduation. She has done really well this year and we are so proud of her. Justin and my sister met me at the graduation. The kids filed in (4 or 5 Kindergarten classes) and song some songs before receiving their certificates. She had been practicing the songs and it was really cute. Afterward we followed her to her class and she took a picture with her teacher and a friend before heading home to open her American Girl present. They had/still have a big sale going on so I got her some fun accessories. My sister also came over for some after lunch pool time. It was a good morning. It also worked out that my Dad was in town for work so that afternoon we met him for dinner. He had a little present for Everly and even picked up a Moana beach ball for Aspen. It was good to see him because today is actually his 60th birthday so we were able to give him his birthday present. He said he is going to be able to go back to NY to see his family this weekend so that should be good. It was good to see him and wish him a Happy Birthday! Here is a little video of the graduation and some pictures.

Weekend in Review

Last weekend was filled with lots of activities. I burned a lot of calories, that's for sure. Friday night I had a soccer game so I headed out there shortly after getting home and eating dinner. I am really like the outdoor 6 v 6 coed better than indoor and it is also cheaper. I stopped by my mom's house that night after my game because they had to put down her Golden Retriever who was a couple days shy of 9 years old. She had been having health problems for a while and was no longer getting up or eating. Sad, but glad she is no longer in pain.

Saturday morning I met my sister for a quick 5 mile run before I headed to take Everly to her last soccer tryout. We decided to keep her at CCV this next upcoming year and start her in the Integra program. It is close to home, not terribly expensive, and she will be playing with girls that are better than her so hopefully she learns from them. Saturday night we met everyone at Scottsdale Quarter for some splashed time. Sunday morning we got up super early to hike over in east Scottsdale at Tom's Thumb. My mom, 2 of my sisters, my sister and law and her friend all went. It was a great hike and we messed around and took some pictures before heading back. Sunday afternoon Justin was working on building my sister's table so I took the girl's to the park and then Everly went swimming in the afternoon. Pool weather is officially here. We went to my sister's for dinner Sunday night for a great end to the weekend!
