Weekend in Review

This weekend went by fast. Thankfully we have a short week because of the holiday Friday, so at least we have that to look forward to. Justin was gone for a good part of the weekend doing his Ragnar Trail Run. He left Thursday night so I had the girls by myself that night and then Friday and a good part of Saturday until he got home. Thankfully with help from my sisters and mom, it wasn't too bad, but I would just rather him be home, haha. Friday night my mom took Everly to see Trolls so me and Aspen had a little alone time. Saturday morning I couldn't leave to go to the gym or anything so I ended up running with the girls in the jogging stroller to Home Depot for the kids workshop. It is 2.5 miles each way so not too bad and I still get to log 5 miles. It was hot though since I am used to running earlier in the morning. I asked my brother-in-law to meet me at home depot to help Ev with her project since Aspen usually needs a lot of attention. Of course, she was actually really good and just chilled in the stroller but it was nice to have the extra help. We also had Everly's last soccer game on Saturday. She is going to have her final party next week where she will get her trophy. When Justin got home Saturday we were all pretty tired and just stayed home. Sunday we got some cleaning done and went through the girls clothes to make room for bigger sizes and warmer clothes. I feel like I am always doing this! I had a soccer game on Sunday so I got a little alone time which was nice but I already miss my girls and can't wait until next weekend!

Sephora Play!

I don't talk about it a ton on here but I am kind of obsessed with makeup. I have been since maybe 6th or 7th grade. The older I get, the more and more I enjoy learning about new things and techniques. I have also become a lot more obsessed with skincare for obvious reasons as well (30!). I very vividly remember the first time I went into Sephora in Las Vegas before they even had one in Arizona. I thought it was the most amazing thing ever and probably bought a pencil sharpener just so I thought I was cool. A couple of years ago I started going to Sephora to get my makeup done for special events like weddings and Vegas trips and even recently I have started occasionally taking classes at Sephora because they are free and fun. A couple of years ago my sister got me a 3 month subscription to BirchBox and I really liked it but not quite enough to continue on with it. Then earlier this year I saw that Sephora had their own subscription box called Sephora Play! and I just had to have it. I love getting free samples at Sephora and was so excited to try this box. Too bad there was a wait list. So, I entered my email and waited. I think it took over 6 months but I finally was able to subscribe and got my first box last month. I looooove it. If you love samples from Sephora, you will love this box. The box costs $10 and the samples are awesome. Great brands and sizes. It also comes with a card that you can use in store for 50 bonus beauty insider points on any purchase which is awesome. The saddest part is having to wait a month to get another box! Here are the items I got in my first box:

Everly's Soccer Update

Everly had team pictures last weekend (which we will get in a couple of weeks) and has her last game this upcoming weekend for the fall season. She has actually been doing really well. She is getting more and more aggressive and has also gotten really good at defense. She really enjoys both practice and her games and I think that is the most important thing. She is always excited to go and we never have to convince her to participate. She has also gotten better at being tough and gets right back up after falling down. It will be nice to have a break for a little around the holidays but she will start back up again for the spring season early next year. One of the mom's on Everly's team is a photographer and took some pictures at the game last weekend and was nice enough to share with us. She got a bunch of Everly and she makes the funniest faces when she is working hard out there. So cute!

Halloween 2016: Trick-or-Treating

We had a great night Trick-or-Treating last night. We did it in our neighborhood again and my sisters and Justin's sister came over to join us. I think we have a decent amount of houses that participate so it turns out pretty well. A lot of people sit out in their driveways which always makes things easier. The little ones didn't even get really scared at any of the more decorated houses. They loved getting the candy and Mae basically had a piece of candy in her mouth the whole time. I don't think Aspen ate any candy but she thought it was cool. Everly had a couple pieces after we were done because she ate all of her dinner really well. Halloween on a school night can be tough but we were done well before 9 p.m. and the girls weren't too bad this morning. Time to get ready for Thanksgiving now!

Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event

Friday night we went to the Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event for the second year in a row. HERE is from our time last year.  We really try to get our full use of out the costumes each year so we really like this event. It is cheap ($4) and the kids have fun. There are arts and crafts, carnival type games and bounce houses/slides. They also had a donut eating competition which the kids participated in as well as Hotel Transylvania playing in a movie room. I was shocked at how much all of the kids really like it. Everly loves that movie, but all of the kids sat there enthralled with the movie for a while. It was kind of nice. Poor Cammy was so tired he slept through half of the event but everyone walked away with some candy so it was all good. Here are a couple of pictures and a little video.

Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Party 2016

Last Thursday night we went out to Schnepf Farms for their Pumpkin and Chili Party for the 3rd year in a row. Here is my post from last YEAR and 2 YEARS ago. It is a long drive for us but I think it is worth it. I thought that it would be nicer to get there a little earlier in the evening than we usually do but it actually wasn't. It was still warm and there were a ton of bees out! I hate bees so I was freaking out but they totally went away when the sun went down. Thank god! The kids loved going on the rides and even got to see the pig races. They toasted some marshmallows and rode on the hay ride. Before leaving we had to check out the pumpkin patch and take one home to carve. We actually just carved it last night because in the past we have carved them too early and they get all sunken in from the AZ heat. We were definitely tired and hungry by the end of the night but it was a good trip and once again, I am glad we went. Also, to save money we go on Thursday nights when the admission is half price so that helps a ton!

Touch-A-Truck 2016

Last Saturday we went to Touch-a Truck for the 3rd year in a row. It was our 3rd year in a row going and probably the hottest yet. Zero shade and I felt like my skin was melting. If we were in the shade it would have been fine but that direct sunlight was too much. Luckily we only spent about an hour there and that was enough for the kids to have a blast. Last year it was raining for a little with even some lightning so I guess we can't complain too much. This year the kids got to sit in a helicopter which I don't recall ever being there before. The diggers are always a hit and Aspen liked the baby section with toy cars. Ev was able to even get in some bounce house time before we had to leave for her game. Here is a little video and some pictures:

Weekend in Review

Summer is basically here and we are already in full on pool season. On Friday I had the day off so I spent some time with Aspen and took he...
