Washington D.C., Part 2

After training ended on my second day I headed over to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for a quick tour before it closed. It was really cool and definitely one the kids would have enjoyed. It was also a great place to pick up little gifts for the kids. My hotel had an awesome free happy hour with local beers but I still missed the girls a lot. Thank God for facetime! The next day my flight back wasn't until 5p.m. so I had some time to explore. I did a tour at the Ford's Theatre first thing in the morning. I really enjoyed it and am glad I went. It's just so crazy to hear about how that night went down and to be in that place as well as the place across the street where Lincoln actually died. After that I headed out to Georgetown because I had never been there. It is a very cute part of D.C. with lots of shopping. I also toured the oldest home on its original foundation in Washington D.C. So crazy how much our lives are different now. I had a great time in D.C. again and am so thankful I was able to go.
