Aspen's Ear Piercing

A couple weeks ago we got Aspen's ears pierced at Fashion Square Mall. She had gotten her 2 month shots and my mom offered to go with me so we headed out to the mall...with two toddlers as well. Just going through the mall with two toddlers is challenging enough but they were actually pretty good. They enjoyed smelling perfumes in Victoria's Secret. When we took Everly to get her ears pierced, she was screaming before we even started. Aspen in general is much calmer. They were able to get both ears pierced with very little screaming and she took her pacifier and was fine. I know lots of people aren't a fan of ear piercing, especially when they are little, but at this age they don't grab at them so it actually works out good. We had no problems with Everly's and have had none with Aspen's either. Thanks to my mom for helping out again and then sweet lady at Claire's for giving the toddlers some lollipops!

  1. Was searching for my GF’s blog and came across yours. You and your children are precious. Started reading and came to your recent post about piercing your daughter similar to her older sister when she was an infant. This is really the best time for sure since all little girls want their ears pierced, but fail to care for them properly. This way, mommy can care for them and they just grow up thinking they are a part of her and look so cute along the way. You're a smart mommy for following your for mommy intuition doing it early.

Promise many moms will be envious of your decision and wish they had pierced their girls as infants too. Babies and little girls with little pierced ears celebrates their femininity and femaleness.

Like you, we did our daughter after my hubby saw my GF's baby girl with little pearl earrings and wanted our daughter to look like "daddy's little girl." Asked our ped and she encouraged me doing it early also. She gave me some info for moms having their little girls ears pierced to find the right person and place to do it.

Would be happy to share by e-mail with any moms wanting more info or trying to decide ” to pierce or not to pierce.”

    1. Thanks! My ped didn't seem too excited about it but she just wanted to make sure we clean it well.
