Last Friday I had the day off from work and volunteered in Everly's classroom. They were having a pumpkin investigation in the morning and a party in the afternoon. I couldn't manage both with Aspen but thanks to my sister's help, I was able to volunteer in the morning. Everly loves having me in class and I love seeing her learn. Her class worked in groups to investigate and measure a pumpkin before we eventually cut it open and took out the seeds. Then we added the seeds to some soil with water and they are hanging out in the sun to see if the seeds sprout. It was a lot of fun but also a good reminder that I would never be a good teacher. Kids all day every day is exhausting. At one point three different kids raised their hand to tell the teacher it was lunch time. As the kids headed to lunch Everly started crying and it was so sad. She didn't want me to leave and it was so sweet. I am so glad I was able to take some time and see her work in her class!
Last Thursday night Justin met me downtown after work and then we drove out to Queen Creek to go to Schnepf Farms for their annual Pumpkin and Chili party. If you go on Thursday nights its half price so we like to take advantage of that. It was a little busy but the weather was perfect. I just wish it wasn't soooo far away. The girls has a blast on the carousel, bumble bee ride, and airplane ride. They also loved bouncing on the big bubble and watching the pig races. We ended the night with a hayride and the girls loved it. Thankfully I didn't have to work the next day because by the time we got home it was like 10:30...way past all of our bedtimes! It's still one of my favorite fall events to attend each year. (Previous Years HERE)
Last weekend Justin's sister got married and we had a really fun night at her wedding. The weather was perfect and it was really nice to be around so much family. The girls had a blast dancing the night away. They both can be pretty shy at first and Aspen definitely is but they were the queens of the dance floor. They were also the only kids there so they kind of stood out. Dinner was good and we really had a fun night.
Aspen's pose was cracking me up. I love that sweet face.
Last week we went to Touch-A-Truck again. This was our 4th year going to the event and you can see our past trips HERE. It was warm again this year but we made it a quick trip and still had some fun. There was a really cute miniature UPS truck there this year which I don't remember ever seeing before. I wanted to take it home. Both girls did really well. They both went down the blow up slides and on one of them Everly was so nice helping Aspen get up. My girls are pretty girly in all things but they sure had fun at that truck event. This event has been getting busier and busier each year but it's free so we can't really complain!
After a not so exciting Play box last month I was really happy with what came in this month's box. It was all complexion themed and really awesome. The box came with a becca primer that I have not yet tried but I have loved the becca primers I have tried. I like to mix them in with my foundation for a nice glow. There was also a Makeup Forever Skin Booster which you can mix in with your primer or foundation and I am excited to try that. I have tried the cover fx drops before and they are awesome. I like to use it as a highlighter. The Laura Mercier translucent powered is also awesome and it is such a cute little sample. The fragrance sample this month is the new Chanel Gabrielle and I am super excited to try that. Probably one of the best boxes yet!
This past Tuesday I took the day off from work to volunteer at Everly's school and go on her field trip. I actually volunteered before I even knew what the trip was. I was kind of bummed to find out it was only a trip to our local library but she was still really excited. My sister thankfully watched Aspen that morning since I couldn't bring her along. The library trip was fun. Everly loved having me there since only a few kids had their parents there. She held my hand almost the whole time. At the library they rotated between a few different events and then I picked out a few books for Everly to check out. After the library we headed to a nearby park to eat lunch and let the kids play. It was pretty hot but you know kids don't care about that. By the time we got back to the school I was pooped. That heat killed me so I picked up Aspen, ate lunch and then took a nap! Hey, it was my day off too! So glad I had the flexibility to be able to spend the morning with Everly in her class!
