Weekend in Review

Last weekend was hot but we followed our usual tips to surviving summer in AZ so it wasn't too bad. The rules are get outside early if you are going out, stay indoors and get in the pool. I had a game Friday night and it was hot but actually not too bad. The next morning I ran 6 miles with my sister before 6 AM. It was rough, but we got it done at a decent pace. After I got home we took the girls to Home Depot and then Everly and I went to the mall after for a VIB Rouge event at Sephora. That girls is the best shopping buddy! After church on Saturday, Justin took Everly to a movie and Aspen and I got the grocery shopping done. Even though it was just grocery shopping, I love having 1 on 1 time with Aspen. Sunday morning the girls had a swim lesson and it was the first one I was able to attend. It was pretty hard for Aspen but Everly did great. Aspen needs to work on getting more calm and Everly just needs to keep on building her confidence. Sunday afternoon I met some friends for rock climbing and dinner. Everly went shopping with my sisters and then Justin took the girls to Sunday dinner at my sister's house. It was my second time rock climbing and I am getting better. It is hard for me, but a lot of fun. I need to take Everly some day but I think Justin would really enjoy it too. It was a great end to the weekend to have some girl time and I am so lucky to have met these girls this past year!

Aspen's First Swim Class

At exactly 2 months old, Aspen had her first swim class. Hubbard Swim offers free baby splash swim classes from 8 weeks old through 5 months. When Everly was born they actually let them start baby splash at 4 weeks old which I posted about here. I'm not sure why they changed it to 8 weeks but it would have been hard to get there any earlier anyways. Things were much more simpler with just one! Aspen did great during her first class. She really didn't fuss or anything. Of course, she is not really learning how to swim right now, but it is great for stimulation and getting them comfortable in the water....and did I mention, it's free! Kind of a no-brainer! Everly played around in the lobby area where they had snacks and a little jungle gym and was very well-behaved. My mom also came to help out with her so I could take lots of pictures. Everly loved her swim classes here and both of my nephews swim here and love it so if you have a Hubbard by you I highly recommend them! We have never had an instructor who wasn't great.

My nephews and the girls all each have their own personalized pottery barn towel. It is kind of a new baby tradition in our family now.

The many bathing suits of Everly

Our girl is really going to be one little fashionista! She has been going to swim class since 4 weeks old and is always the most fashionable girl at the pool! Here are her different looks which actually does not even include all of the bathing suits this little girl owns!

Blue One Shoulder: Gap
Pink one piece: Target
Yellow Bikini: Old Navy

Also, I am not a crazy bathing suit buyer! Two of these were bought by my sisters!

First Swim Class!

Last Thursday night Everly had her first swim class. I know 4 weeks old seems early and kind of useless, but it gets her used to the water and it is free! You know how much I love free stuff! The classes are offered at Hubbard Family Swim School for free until she is 6 months old. It is also something fun and different for us to do during my maternity leave. Everly did very well during her first class. She did not get fussy at all. She slept through the first half of it but when she woke up I think she really enjoyed it. She started to get cold towards the end so we had to get her out early but they say that is very normal for newborns because they have difficulty regulating their body temperatures. My sister has been taking my nephew to the same swim school since he was 6 weeks old and it is so fun to see the progress that he has made so I can't wait to see Everly make that progress too! Here are a few photos from the night...
