Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event

Last Friday we took the girls to the annual Foothills Neighborhood Halloween event at the Foothills Aquatic Center (HERE are our previous trips there). It was just us this year since Teddy plays football on Friday nights and I had a soccer game so we couldn't stay too long but it was still a lot of fun. Everly ran in to a girl from summer camp so she had a blast. She got her face painted as soon as we got there. Aspen loves blow-up slides and bounce houses so she was pretty happy too even if she hated her costume. The carnival games were cute and the girls loved picking out prizes. They were also really into the crafts this year. I guess we need to color more.

Foothills Aquatic Center

Last Sunday we took the kids to the Foothills Aquatic Center by our house for a fun pool day. We have gone several times before and if you click on "Foothills Aquatic Center" below this post you will see all the other posts about our visits there. It is fun to see how the kids have all grown! Everly was supposed to go there for a field trip the week prior for Summer Camp but we had record heat that week so they cancelled the field trip. I felt bad so we decided to go on our own. It was still insanely hot but the kids had a lot of fun. We actually had to get out of the pool for a while because some girl passed out (I think there were substances involved) so that was pretty odd but I am pretty sure she was fine. Everly had a blast on the water slide as did Mae and Cameron and Aspen and Nora loved the lazy river. I could sit in that thing all day! Teddy had a blast jumping in the big pool. The kids all got in a good nap in that day for sure! We love it there but I really just wish it opened earlier. It only opens at noon on Saturday and 11:30 on Sunday and we are early risers so that is late for us!

Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event

Friday night we went to the Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event for the second year in a row. HERE is from our time last year.  We really try to get our full use of out the costumes each year so we really like this event. It is cheap ($4) and the kids have fun. There are arts and crafts, carnival type games and bounce houses/slides. They also had a donut eating competition which the kids participated in as well as Hotel Transylvania playing in a movie room. I was shocked at how much all of the kids really like it. Everly loves that movie, but all of the kids sat there enthralled with the movie for a while. It was kind of nice. Poor Cammy was so tired he slept through half of the event but everyone walked away with some candy so it was all good. Here are a couple of pictures and a little video.

Foothills Neighborhood Halloween Event (and IHOP)

As I have mentioned earlier, we were really trying to get full use out of the kids Disney costumes this year so the day before Halloween we went to an event at the Foothills Aquatic Center by my house. Before we headed up there we took advantage of the free kids scary face pancakes at IHOP. Who doesn't love pancakes? The Halloween event cost $4 but that basically paid for your candy so if you didn't want the candy you could do almost everything for free. Pottery painting and the train rides were a couple of bucks each if you wanted to do that. Next year I will definitely pass on the candy because no one needs that. They had some bounce houses and carnival type games which were fun. They also had some sort of eating contest and next year we for sure are going to enter the kids in that! They had a whole free arts area where the kids could do crafts and then a really cool train being pulled by a tractor out front. The kids loved this! There were a lot of people there but it was not overwhelming at all. If they do it again next year I think it is definitely something we will do again.

Foothills Aquatics Center Video

Ever since Everly and I first visited the aquatics center a few weeks ago I had been telling my sister she needed to bring the boys because they would have a blast. We finally all went last weekend and had a lot of fun. I really wish that it opened earlier (Saturdays it opens at noon) but other than that I love it. We brought the go pro and although I am still learning how to use it, I think we got some great shots. Justin even jumped in off of the diving board with it. While we were there the whistles started blowing and everyone had to get out of the pool because a kid fell (he was totally fine) but that is what Everly is talking about at the end of the video. Teddy asked, "what was that sound" about 90 times even though he knew it was a whistle. Toddlers! I am pretty sure everyone napped fantastically after that, myself included.

Weekend in Review

This past weekend started a little early for me. I had to leave work early on Friday to take Aspen to the doctor. She has another ear infection. Poor baby. She slept a lot this weekend but it still isn't completely cleared up. We stayed home Friday night and made calzones while watching the US Women's soccer team play. Saturday morning we laid around a bit and then my sister came over to go swimming with Everly. On Saturday night we took Teddy to As You Wish and then we got frozen yogurt after. While getting yogurt some fire fighters came in and Teddy asked them where their truck was so they offered to show the kids there truck. It was super nice and they were all awesome. On Sunday we got some cleaning done and I took Everly to the nearby aquatic center. It was our first time and she loved it. Can't wait to take her back. On Sunday night we went to my sister's for dinner and got the sweetest picture of all 3 girls together and Everly got more splashing time with her boys. I also made a little video from Saturday night using a new video app. Looking forward to a short-work week!
