Weekend in Review

Summer is basically here and we are already in full on pool season. On Friday I had the day off so I spent some time with Aspen and took her to a splash pad. On Saturday morning Everly had a quick soccer tryout before we went to the Water Safety event at the Pointe. Last year Justin and I were at the Kentucky Derby so my mom and sister took the girls but we have been several years and you can see them HERE. It was very busy and we didn't get a great spot but the kids had fun and the lazy river is always nice. After that Justin and I headed downtown to get ready to go to dinner and a concert with his sister. She bought us these tickets for Christmas so we have been excited to go for a while. I had won a gift card to CIBO so we went there for dinner. It was super busy so we ended up ordering to go which worked just fine. The concert was great and we had a really fun night. Sunday was Mother's Day so we met the girls up at breakfast the next morning. I had a very nice mother's day the included a nap and a workout and a delicious brussels sprout and pancetta pasta dinner. It was a good weekend!

Water Safety Day 2017

Last weekend while Justin and I were at the Kentucky Derby, my mom and sister took the girls with them to the annual water safety event at the point. I don't think we went last year, but here are our trips from 2015 and 2014. The event was held back at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak which I love. I am sad I missed it this year but am really glad that  my mom and sister were able to take the girls so they could still enjoy it. They said they had great weather that day and they were sending us pictures and video all day long. The event usually has several vendors providing information/tips about water safety as well as several first responders like fire fighters, etc. It looks like they had a great time!

Water Safety Day 2015

Last weekend we attended water safety day at the Pointe for the second year in a row. This year it was at the Point Tapatio as opposed to the Point Squaw Peak where it was last year and you can read about that here. We almost didn't go because it was not going to be very warm, but we found out the pools are heated to 82 so we decided to go anyways. My mom, Cameron, Justin and Everly got there early and then Kim, Teddy, Me and Aspen met them up after our morning soccer game. The kids had fun splashing around, and the resort is nice, but this year the event was no where near as good as it was two years ago. Also, the Squaw Peak resort has a lazy river and the Tapatio one does not so that is a bummer. It is a free event so we will probably go again next year if they have it, but hopefully they switch back to Squaw Peak again!

We got there a little late but there was a lot more activity and information last year.

Aspen is still unsure of it all but Ev loved the beach entry.

Water Safety Day

Last week my sister's daycare posted and handed out flyers about a free water safety day at The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. It is an older resort, but it is still awesome. We actually stayed there for my sister's bachelorette party 4 years ago. They have a whole river ranch area with several pools and a lazy river. It is not cheap to stay at the hotel and you have to stay there to use their facilities so we were pretty excited to get to use the resort for free. It actually ended up being really awesome. There were a bunch of vendors with booths talking about water safety. We got a tip about assigning a lanyard to whoever is in charge of watching the kids by the pool which was really cool and I also got some information from a company that makes kid-safe pool fences which we need to install in our new house. The weather and water was perfect. All 3 kids had a blast and loved the lazy river, and I am lazy so I loved it too. I am so glad we went!
