Train Park day with Aspen

I had an extra day off with Aspen this week so we decided to take advantage of it and do something fun. After we dropped off Everly we hit up Halloween clearance at Target before heading up to Anthem to go to the train park. Aspen was very excited to be at the playground. She is becoming much more adventurous too. She has always been initially a scaredy cat so it is fun to see her growing out of that a little. Hopefully she is even more grown out of it by the time we go to Disneyland next year. She did great at the park and then we took a train ride before hitting up the swings. I just loved watching her face on the train. She has the best expressions. It was a fun morning and I am so lucky that I get this extra time to spend with her one-on-one. I love having girls (at least for now)!

The fact that this unicorn didn't scare her is also kind of a miracle

Nora's First Birthday Party!

Last Sunday we officially celebrated Nora's first birthday with a party at Anthem Community Park. The park has a train, couple of playgrounds and a splash pad. We had a bit of a cold front starting last Sunday and early this week so the splash pad was a no-go. It was a little chillier than we expected it to be but the kids still had a blast. My sister brought bagels, donuts and coffee and Nora chewed on a donut for like 30 minutes. The kids had so much fun at the big playground. We sang Nora happy birthday and she did a decent job digging in to her cake, especially considering that girl is so dang tiny. Her favorite toy was a sippy cup my sister got her. After cake and presents we headed over to the train. The train ride was good and we even got to see an owl that had a nest in a cactus. We hit up the swings before leaving and practically had to drag the kids away because they were having so much fun. It was a great morning. I can't believe little Nora is already one! Now she just needs to start walking!
