Shamrock Farms Easter Egg Hunt

This past Sunday we made the trip out to Shamrock Farms for a tour and Easter egg hunt. This is our second time attending this event and we like it a lot. It is a really far drive for us (80 minutes) so the fact that we would willing drive for this is proof that it is fun. Here is a post from our trip last year. It is great because the kids learn about the animals and get to experience a farm, but they also get to enjoy an egg hunt as well. All the kids are guaranteed to get eggs also which is nice when there are older kids around. Last year I was pregnant with Aspen, too so it was fun to take her for her first time. She was such a good little baby...as always. All of the kids did great picking up eggs and Teddy actually tried to cheat and start early, haha. The kids also were a lot more enthusiastic about feeding the calves during that part of the tour. I think Everly was much more timid last year. Teddy even got a lick on the head from one of them when Doug wasn't looking. Teddy and Everly also could not pass up a chance to get their faces painted and the lady who did it was awesome. We wanted them to get cows but Teddy picked a tractor and Everly picked a sparkly rainbow...toddlers! It was a great morning and we also got to see a calf being born, too !

Wedding Weekend Fun

I absolutely love weddings. I think if I could do anything and not be worried about money, I would totally love to work in the wedding business. I just think they are wonderful. This past weekend we attended a wedding for a girlfriend of mine. I went to her bachelorette party in January and had a blast and was so excited for the wedding. It was also kind of like a date night for Justin and I because we were out without kids so that was nice too. Of course, I missed my babies but I know how important it is for us to have time for ourselves as well so we definitely enjoyed ourselves. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. The weather was great. I loved the colors. It was simple, and classic, and very well done. The food was yummy the company was great and it was just a really fun night. I especially thought all of the parent/maid of honor/groomsmen speeches were awesome. It was also slightly weird for me because this was the first wedding I attended since becoming a parent and it actually was different. When I saw the bride's mom and dad I started to see things from their perspective and how it was also their big day too. It's weird to think about that being Justin and I someday...a long, long, long time from now! Thanks to my mom and sister for watching the babies for us so we could attend!

Video Update

It has been awhile since I posted a video and then Justin took this cute one last night so I just had to share. We have so many videos of Everly in the same tub like this and this so it is funny to watch Aspen having fun, too. She is doing great and working on sitting up on her own for longer periods of time and this tub is awesome for practicing that. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that Aspen is seriously happy 99% of the time. There are definitely times when she is more needy than others, but she is generally such a good and smiley baby. We have a lot of fun with her.

World Down Syndrome Day 2015

IMG_5229
Last Saturday was World Down Syndrome Day (3/21). We ended up going to two different events to celebrate my nephew Cameron. The first was special needs day at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park. We have been to this event for the past 3 years now and we have fun every year. It is always pretty packed and tends to get warm out but the kids have a blast. This year Everly went down a big blow-up slide by herself and all of the kids went on the live steamers which we haven't done before. Justin and I also walked Teddy and Everly through the old rail car that they have that several Presidents rode in. They liked seeing all of the toilets, haha. After the park we went home and rested and cleaned up before heading out to a festival held by the Down Syndrome Network of Arizona. It was way out in the East Valley but worth it. The kids had a lot of fun. They had a bounce house, playground, a fire truck, carnival games, dancing, a photo booth, and princesses. By the end of the night we were exhausted and ready to go home. Everly passed out so you know it was a good day. We love our Cam and are so happy we got the chance to celebrate with him.

Spring Training 2015

Friday night we made it out to a Spring Training game. This year we went to Peoria Sports Complex which is less than 10 minutes from our house. This field is the home of the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres who happened to be playing the Kansas City Royals that night. There were a lot of Royals fans there but it wasn't overly crowded like some of the games can get. I think there were probably more families at the game because it was a Friday night. It was Aspen's first Spring Training game and the kids had a lot of fun running around on the grass. The weather was great and Aspen was a little Angel as well. Great start to a great weekend!
