Everly's Valentine's Day Party

Yesterday afternoon I was able to leave work a little early to make it to Everly's school for her Valentine's Day party. It was really fun to see her in her class again. Similar to her Christmas party, they kids decorated cookies and then all had their Valentine's bags handed out. Everly was so excited to go through all of her Valentine's. She loved reading who each was from. It is so fun at this age because all of the kids really like each other. They love sharing things with each other and there are no cliques or anything, at least, not in her class. There was only like 4 other parents that were able to go so I realize how lucky I am to be able to make it to these things occasionally. I took her home after the party and we went to Target and then picked up Aspen which I don't normally do so it was fun. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!

She ate that entire cookie. Also the picture was on her class board outside her room.  Not accurate.

DIY Candy Free Valentines

I got my stuff together and made Everly candy-free valentines for the 3rd year in a row. I am no crazy crafter but thanks to Pinterest it is not too hard to make me look like I have it all together. Here is our candy free valentines from 2016 and 2015. There are so many free printable templates out on Pinterest so I let Everly choose between a play doh valentine and a silly straw valentine and she chose the silly straw option. I got the printable HERE. Everly has 24 kids in her class and I got a pack of exactly 24 straws for $5 at hobby lobby. I did not receive a class list to add names so I just removed the "to:" part before making copies. This was the first year she actually wrote her name on all of the valentines. She could have last year, but it would have taken a lot longer so I typed it on before printing them. I am not anti-candy by any means, but I know she is going to get a ton without me adding to it so that is why we do candy-free valentines. Can't wait to see all of the fun stuff she gets at her Valentines Party.

Happy Valentine's Day 2016

I am currently out running my marathon because I am crazy like that but I wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day and share a pic of the girls from Friday. Everly had her Valentine's Day party at school and all of the little kids were so cute Friday morning with the treats and gifts that they brought in. Aspen just tagged along for the picture in a shirt that Everly wore 3 years ago for Valentine's day. Hope your day is filled with lots of love and chocolate!

Candy-Free Valentines

Everly's Valentine's Day party at school is tomorrow so I am proud that we got her Valentine's finished last night and brought to school today so we are not rushing around tonight trying to get them done. I actually kept it really simple again this year despite the fact that we made them. They are also candy-free again. I like candy just as much as the next lady but we get enough of it without adding to it ourselves. Here was our bubble-valentine's from last year. This year we did glow bracelets which is also super cheap. Target's dollar section is perfect this time of year. I got the template for the valentines from here, which I found through Pinterest. I also bought some heart sticker's so Everly could have fun putting them on the valentines. She really wanted to start cracking all of the glow stick bracelets so I had to do something! Aspen is in room 4 at her day care and they don't start having Valentine's Day parties until they are in room 5 so we have another year before we have to start doing twice as many valentines!

Home Depot Workshop

This weekend was the first Saturday of the month which means Home Depot Kids Workshop day! Everly is really starting to get into holidays more and more and so she was very excited that it was a Valentine's themed project. Apparently so was everyone else because it was a busy workshop day. Usually Justin helps Everly and I take pictures but he was shopping for some things so I helped Everly. By helped I mean I pretty much did everything so she could paint it. Hammering nails is hard for a 4 1/2 year old but she helped. The project was a valentine's mailbox and it was super cute. I actually didn't screw it up while building it so yay for me! Everly did a pretty good job painting it too. My sister watched Aspen while I helped Ev and then we switched so she could paint with Cam. We had a fun morning and I think the project turned out really cute!

Valentine's Day 2015

So I am a bad mom and didn't get a picture of the girls on Valentine's Day in their outfits. I picked them out, but Justin was the one who took them to school and then when I picked them up they were both no longer in their outfits for different bathroom related incidents. My mom had actually gotten them special matching outfits which I had them where a week before Valentine's Day, here:

Everly was wearing her shirt from last year that she still fits into and Aspen was wearing Everly's shirt from her first Valentine's Day back in 2012 which you can see her in here. I will try to put them back in those outfits before they don't fit and take a picture...but no promises! In other news, it was Everly's first year handing out Valentine's and receiving them at school. I didn't want to add to all of the candy so I found an idea from pinterest and a $3 package of bubbles and made her some cute Valentine's. I like how they turned out, although 3 year olds are not mature enough to hold a vial of bubbles without spilling it...so sorry other parents!

Everly got lots of candy and tattoos and I think she had a pretty fun day at her Valentine's party at school. I can't wait until she can write her name on her own Valentine's next year!

Happy Valentine's Day

Everly just wanted to stop in and say Happy Valentine's Day (and happy 100th B-day Arizona and one of Ev's babysitters Ashley!). Justin and I will be going out for a tasty dinner tonight while Grandma watches Ev. Hope you have a love filled day!
