Sephora Play: December 2017

I got my last Sephora play box for a while. I decided to cancel after my December box. I did not cancel because I don't love it anymore. I still love it, but I just have so many samples and trial sizes of items between the play boxes and the holidays so I decided I will cancel it for a while so I can go through and use them all. December was another good box. This month's theme was glam. I don't use dry shampoo that often but I am really excited to use the Dr. Jart cream. I have heard lots of good things about it. This box also came with a cute smashbox eye shadow duo and a Clinique eyeliner pen which I don't have and wish I was better at using so I am going to play around with that. I am going to miss these little boxes each month but I don't think there is a wait list anymore so I will be definitely be signing back up in the future!

Sephora Play: November 2017

I got my Play box very early this month. I barely broke into my box from last month! The theme for this month's box was survival of the chillest and it seems like they are a lot of pampering type of items. The fragrance sample for this month is My Burberry Blush which  is in the floral family. I used to almost never wear florals but I have started wearing them more as daytime/work scents so I am excited to try this. This box also came with a moroccan oil hair treatment which I love to bring with me when I am traveling. Also, a travel size Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal mask which is awesome. I have it but can totally re-gift this. I am excited to try the Marc Jacobs mascara and I have a feeling I am going to like the Caudalie eye cream. These sample eye creams area also awesome to travel with and they last forever because you don't use very much. I broke into the Ultra Shine Lip Gel and I really liked it. It is a very flattering nude color and it is not sticky like a gloss. I have recently become obsessed with lip oils and this seems to be right in between a lip oil and a gloss. Can't wait to see what fun holiday items we get next month!

Sephora Play!: October 2017

After a not so exciting Play box last month I was really happy with what came in this month's box. It was all complexion themed and really awesome. The box came with a becca primer that I have not yet tried but I have loved the becca primers I have tried. I like to mix them in with my foundation for a nice glow. There was also a Makeup Forever Skin Booster which you can mix in with your primer or foundation and I am excited to try that. I have tried the cover fx drops before and they are awesome. I like to use it as a highlighter. The Laura Mercier translucent powered is also awesome and it is such a cute little sample. The fragrance sample this month is the new Chanel Gabrielle and I am super excited to try that. Probably one of the best boxes yet!

Sephora Play: September 2017

This is my 11th month of Sephora Play and the least excited I have been. Really the first one where nothing really wowed me. The theme this month was fall beauty. It definitely had some good stuff in it that I will use. One of the other things that was kind of a bummer this month was that there was no fragrance sample. Instead, there was a hair oil sample. I know you can walk into Sephora any time and get a free fragrance sample, but I still like getting them and the hair oil sample is really tiny. This month also came with a conditioning treatment which I need to use. It is from DevaCurl which I have been loving. It also came with a sample of Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve which I had a sample of and was almost out of. It is a really nice lightweight daytime moisturizer. For makeup, this month came with a Sephora black eyeliner, a red liquid lip, and a tiny sample of Benefit's Gimme Brow. I wish the Gimme Brow sample was bigger because I really like it. Hopefully next month steps it back up!

Sephora Play!: August 2017

My play box came yesterday and it is probably my favorite box yet. It came in the cutest little makeup geek bag which is perfect for this back to school time of year. This month's box came with one hair product, a volume mist by Alterna Hair Care. I will definitely be bringing this to Vegas with me next week. I was most excited to open the box and see a micro mini beauty blender. I have wanted one for a while and already used it this morning. I almost bought Clinique lash primer the other day so I am glad that came in this box. I am really excited to try the foundation stick from hourglass and have never tried the burberry perfume before. I have also recently been obsessed with Korres products so I was very excited to get the elixir from them. I have never heard of it before but they have never done me wrong. Can't wait to use the rest of these products!

Sephora Play!: July 2017

This week I got my July Sephora Play! box in and the theme this month is a Glamp Out Beauty Staycation theme. I am really excited to try all of these products. The only one not new to me is the fragrance, which I like. I have heard great things about both the IT Cosmetics mascara and the Bare Minerals liquid lip color. I really liked the other product I got from Milk Makeup so I am excited to try this new one and I also just ran out of a charcoal cleanser and love Boscia so I am also excited to try this one. The leave in conditioning spray will be awesome for traveling. It seriously is still my favorite package to get in the mail and the bonus points I get every month has helped me get to rouge again for next year!

Sephora Play: May 2017

My May Sephora Play! box came this weekend which means it was a good day. It was the 1st anniversary of the Sephora Play! program and so it came in a cute clear bag. I was super excited to get a Tata Harper product in this month's bag because they used some of that on my skin once while I got my makeup done and it is really nice and the brand is natural and non-toxic. The product in this box was the Tata Harper resurfacing mask which sounds amazing. I love masking. This month also came with a good sized sample of Christophe Robin's Cleansing Purifying Scrub with sea salt for your hair. I am excited to try this because I know I don't take good enough care of my hair. The May box came with the Trestique Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose stick which I used this morning. It is super creamy and very pretty. I was also really excited to see a MILK product in this month's box. The blur stick looks awesome for under foundation. The GrandLips lip plumper looks really cool too because you can combine it with other products to help hydrate your lips. The fragrance sample this month is Nest Black Tulip which I have tried and like despite the fact that it is technically in the floral family. Still super happy with this subscription box and definitely recommend it to anyone who loves trying new makeup/skin products.

Sephora Play!: April 2017

Yay! My April Sephora Play box is here and I am so excited about this one. A lot of these products are skin care related which is one of my biggest obsessions. I much more enjoy doing my makeup when my skin is looking great. I think that is pretty easy to understand. I think that one of the things I have noticed is that my skin-type is normally combination, but depending on other factors and the time of the month, my skin can break out more and be more oily or feel super dry. Because of the varying condition of my skin, I love having different types of products to use and this month's box is perfect for that. First, the fragrance sample with this month's box is Marc Jacobs Daisy which I do like despite the fact that I am not normally into floral fragrances. It has a little white woods in it so that is probably why I like it. The skin prepping items in this month's box are the Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate, and the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. Obviously everyone needs makeup remover and this one is great for traveling. The Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench has hyaluronic acid which holds 1000% its weight in water so this is great for when I am feeling super dry. I have not met a Peter Thomas Roth product I didn't like (the pumpkin enzyme mask is my favorite). The product I was most excited about this month is the ExfoliKate. This is an awesome exfoliating treatment that is great to add into your routine 1-2 days a week. It does have a little burn/sting, but I love that. It is kind of expensive but you don't need a lot. I calculated the value of this sample and it is worth $12 alone which is more than the entire cost of the Play box. The Smashbox primer is also a great primer. It is silicone based so I don't use it every day but it is great for days when I really want my makeup to last all day. A little also goes a long way with this one. The last product in this month's box was a black eyeliner from Make up Forever. I actually need a new black liner so I am excited about this, too. Clearly, I am still loving the Sephora Play! Box.

Sephora Play!: March

My March Sephora Play! box came in this weekend and it did not disappoint. The theme this month is called Gleam Team and includes products to help you shimmer from hair, to skin to lips. The first thing I saw was the becca skin shimmering perfector. I acutally have another big sample of this from Christmas that I hadn't used yet so I mixed a pea size of this in with my foundation yesterday and was really surprised. It gives you a super nice glow which is great going in to summer. It is also not crazy sparkly which is good because I am not into that all over my face. The next thing I saw was the Verb ghost oil for smoothing frizzy hair. I have curly hair that can easily get frizzy so I am super excited to try this. I am also super excited to try the Josie Maran skin argan finishing balm. I have been close to buying some of her products before so I hope this is awesome. I tried on the Urban Decay vice lipstick and was pleasantly surprised that it was a nice sheer shimmer. The vice collection has a mix of matte, sheer and creamy lipstick colors and I like this a lot. Last is the Glamglow illuminating moisturizer. I have loved everything from Glamglow that I have tried and I think this will be a great product for summer. The scent this month is Divine Clementine from Atelier Cologne and I like the smell but I hate the packaging so that is the only downfall this month. Can't wait to use all of these goodies!

Sephora Play!: February

Yay! I got my February Sephora Play! box this weekend it is awesome as usual. This month's the was "The Soft Side" and includes lots of neutrals and skin-perfecting formulas. I got so excited when I opened this box like it was freaking Christmas.  I am so excited to try the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue. Also very excited about the Too Faced Lip Injection. I never used to care much about lip products but have entirely too many now. I have tried Prada Candy before and love it and also love the GinZing eye cream. That little tube lasts a long while because you only need a small amount of product which is nice because eye cream is expensive. I always love trying out a new mascara and have tried the Clinique pep-start eye cream but not the blur moisturizer so I am excited about that too. Can't wait to start using some of these products tomorrow!
