Monday off with Aspen

Last Monday I had the day off so Aspen and I got some one on one time. We took it easy in the morning and then once took Everly to school and got going we headed out to the park and library. She was so funny at the park. She kept saying "come for me" instead of "come with me" and wanted me to climb all over the playground with her. She could have played there all day but Everly reads so many books each week we really needed to go. We also noticed they had some children's books for sale for .50 so we bought a few including a Gaspard & Lisa book for Aspen. Everly used to love that show so after I found this book I introduced Aspen to it and she loves it too. Another great day with Aspen.

Nora's First Birthday Party!

Last Sunday we officially celebrated Nora's first birthday with a party at Anthem Community Park. The park has a train, couple of playgrounds and a splash pad. We had a bit of a cold front starting last Sunday and early this week so the splash pad was a no-go. It was a little chillier than we expected it to be but the kids still had a blast. My sister brought bagels, donuts and coffee and Nora chewed on a donut for like 30 minutes. The kids had so much fun at the big playground. We sang Nora happy birthday and she did a decent job digging in to her cake, especially considering that girl is so dang tiny. Her favorite toy was a sippy cup my sister got her. After cake and presents we headed over to the train. The train ride was good and we even got to see an owl that had a nest in a cactus. We hit up the swings before leaving and practically had to drag the kids away because they were having so much fun. It was a great morning. I can't believe little Nora is already one! Now she just needs to start walking!

Anthem Train Park

We have been wanting to take the babies to a train park for awhile now. Growing up, my parents used to take my siblings and I to the McCormick Ranch Train Park. We often went after church on Sundays or when my Grandparents were in town visiting. I haven't been there since I have grown up, but we loved it. Eventually we will take them to that park, however, two weekends ago we took them to the Anthem train park. The park where this is located at in Anthem is beautiful! It is huge and there is so much to do. Also, when you are done, you can hit up the Anthem Outlets...bonus! Cameron and Everly had a good time. After the ride we were hanging out in the grass and Everly took a bunch of steps on her own. It was awesome! Here are some photos from the morning! Also, there is a video at the end of her walking...don't mind my sister's excitement! Haha!
