Board & Brush

My sister had been out of town on her actual birthday so we had a delayed celebration last weekend with a lunch and girls day out at Board & Brush. We had been wanting to go here for a while and after seeing a really good black Friday deal it seemed like the perfect time to go. We made the small sign but it is still a really good size (12x16 or 6x24). We also all did holiday signs but you could have done anything. The instructors are very helpful and it is really fun. They provide everything you need to make a custom sign for yourself. We had done a day workshop but if you do one after 4 you can even bring your own drinks in. I think our signs turned out really cute and it was a fun afternoon.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great and long Thanksgiving weekend. It started Wednesday night when we took the girls to go see Coco. It was very cute and not horrible to watch as an adult either. The girls love popcorn and movies so it was a success. On Thursday morning I ran 5 miles with my sisters before we had our Thanksgiving breakfast. After breakfast we headed up to Anthem for the kids 1/2 mile turkey trot. They did great. Ted even fell and got right back up. We got in some park time before heading back home. Thursday evening we went back to my sister's for dinner. My mom cooked the turkey upside down but other than that it was good. After dinner my mom and sister and I went to a couple of stores for some shopping, but nothing crazy. Friday was the real deal. I picked up my sister to start shopping before 5 AM. My mom met us up a little later with Nora. We spent the morning shopping and got a lot of great deals. Saturday morning my sister and I did a 3 mile trail run before taking the kids to the Home Depot workshop. It was a cute Christmas tree ornament project. Later that afternoon Justin and Doug took Everly and Teddy for an overnight camping trip. They had fun and he made a little video so I will post that tomorrow. While they were gone, Aspen and I went to dinner with my mom and sister and picked up some craft supplies at Michael's. We had fun. Sunday we put up the rest of the Christmas decorations before going to my sister's for dinner. It was a good long holiday weekend with lots to be Thankful for!

Home Depot Workshop

Last Saturday I met my sister with her kids at the Home Depot Kids Workshop. We were by ourselves because Justin and my brother-in-law were running Ragnar trail. Luckily, we got a pretty easy project. Since Veteran's Day is tomorrow, the project was a military truck. Of course, the girls painted theirs pink because, why not? I love taking the kids to the workshops every month because they love it and it is free, but I can't wait to have Justin back because I have done the last two solo. The Christmas décor is up in Home Depot now as well and the kids loved walking through that section and looking at it. It was a little nuts with 5 kids and 2 adults, but we survived!
