Weekend in Review

Summer is basically here and we are already in full on pool season. On Friday I had the day off so I spent some time with Aspen and took her to a splash pad. On Saturday morning Everly had a quick soccer tryout before we went to the Water Safety event at the Pointe. Last year Justin and I were at the Kentucky Derby so my mom and sister took the girls but we have been several years and you can see them HERE. It was very busy and we didn't get a great spot but the kids had fun and the lazy river is always nice. After that Justin and I headed downtown to get ready to go to dinner and a concert with his sister. She bought us these tickets for Christmas so we have been excited to go for a while. I had won a gift card to CIBO so we went there for dinner. It was super busy so we ended up ordering to go which worked just fine. The concert was great and we had a really fun night. Sunday was Mother's Day so we met the girls up at breakfast the next morning. I had a very nice mother's day the included a nap and a workout and a delicious brussels sprout and pancetta pasta dinner. It was a good weekend!

Weekend in Review

Last weekend I had an extra day off and it still didn't feel like enough time. Thankfully, Spring Break is right around the corner. Friday I had the day off so I took the girls to IHOP for 77c pancakes before school. I spent the rest of the day shopping with Aspen while Everly was at school. Friday night we took the kids to watch a movie in the courtyard at Desert Ridge. They were playing Coco and we haven't seen it since seeing it in the theatre so it was fun. The kids did great and I am glad we went. On Saturday I went for a hike and then went out for St. Patrick's Day. I got home entirely too late but it was fun. Sunday we took the kids to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Aspen seemed like she was going to do good and then decided to hate it at the last minute. We were able to get a picture without tears but she looks pissed. She was pissed. Sunday night my sister came over for dinner and I went on a 2 mile bike/run with Everly and Teddy. They are getting too fast for me! We ate dinner and played a board game and it was a great ending to the weekend.

Weekend in Review

Last weekend we had some great overcast weather and we took advantage of it. Saturday morning I slept in and was still able to get in a good 5-mile run because the weather was so nice. Everly had some soccer testing Saturday morning so I took the girls to that while Justin worked on the backyard. He is laying some pavers and working very hard to get it done. He already rocked our front yard and the final step will be turf in the backyard because grass is just stupid in AZ. Saturday night we went to church and then had dinner at Habit Burger because we had a coupon. Sunday morning Everly slept in late so I took Aspen to the grocery store with me. We ran in to my sister and Ted and Nora. Aspen thought it was the best. They were running around the store like a bunch of nut jobs. We got back home just in time for me to go to my soccer game. Everly was barely waking up. Later that morning she went with my mom to Board and Brush in Glendale to make an Easter project. It was very easy and it turned out super cute. We currently have it hanging above our fireplace. This was our last time we went to Board and Brush. Sunday night we had dinner at my mom's and it was a great way to end the weekend!

Aspen was mad at me because I yelled at her for playing with the outlet by her head.

Aspen was cheering on her sister. So cute!

Everly read that book about Rosa Parks and then started crying because it was sad. The sweetest girl.

MLK Weekend

MLK Weekend this year was filled with lots of soccer. I always play in a local soccer tournament with my women's team so I had that but this year Everly also had a soccer tournament. She played 4 games I believe and did really well. I also had 4 games but we lost in the semi finals. I wasn't too bummed though because it meant that instead of having a game Monday morning, I was able to take the girls to the zoo with my sister. Since this was the week we were leaving for Disney, Justin stayed home to get stuff done around the house. It actually worked out really well. I sure do love my long weekends.
