Weekend in Review
Last weekend was filled with lots of Christmas fun. On Saturday Everly had soccer and then after that we headed to Home Depot to make gingerbread houses. These were much more work than the ornaments last weekend. It did end up pretty cute but we all had paint on us by the time we left. After getting home and eating lunch Everly and I headed over to my sister's to start our annual Christmas cookie baking. We ended up finishing them up on Sunday afternoon/evening. I still have to make some and my sister has to make some but we got the sugar cookies done and decorated as well as the snicker doodles and everyone's favorite, the peanut butter kisses. I decorated soooo many cookies and went home with frosting on me. It was a good weekend and I can't wait to eat cookies all month long!

Weekend in Review
Last weekend was awesome. I was off Friday and on Friday night I met my sister and one of her co-workers for our first spin class at Cycle Bar Norterra. It was a lot of fun. Definitely hard but a great workout. We will be going back! After that we were hungry which worked out well because we were having dinner at my house for Nora's 1st Birthday. Her party is actually this Sunday but we had to do something for her actual birthday. On Saturday morning I got up for a hike with Minnie before I headed out to a pool day with some of my soccer friends. It was a lot of fun and the day ended with my first Baked Bear. Yum! I also brought some home for the girls because I felt bad for being away from them all day. They were fine, of course. Justin took them to a reading event at Paradise Valley Community College and they each got a free book. On Sunday we made brownies and did some shopping and I took Everly to the park before we headed to my sister's house for dinner.
Happy Birhday Nori!

Baby Boy Bakery We Cook Kit
After Christmas I got an email that we could try out the Baby Boy Bakery We Cook Kit and just pay the shipping so we decided to do it. The We Cook Kit is a monthly subscription box with an original recipe and coordinating exclusive tools designed around creating memories in the kitchen with your child. Everly actually got some baking supplies for Christmas from her aunt and really loves helping out in the kitchen. She loved opening the box and going through all of the supplies and wanted to We headed out to Sprouts and picked up some of the ingredients that we didn't have, but we actually had most of them. We stopped by the park on our way home just to get some wiggles out before baking. Aspen is obsessed with swinging and Everly is killing it on the monkey bars. I got all of the ingredients ready for Everly and she helped grease the pan and mix up all of the ingredients. She of course had to sneak a couple of almonds and chocolate chips before adding them in. After they baked and cooled she loved using the cookie cutters to cut them into small shapes. She also loved using the dipper tool to drizzle on the icing. She bagged some up to share with her cousins and sealed them with the cute stickers. It was a really fun activity and I think they taste great too. If you were thinking about trying it out, we really enjoyed it but you do have to buy the ingredients so keep that in mind.
These girls love getting in a little playground time.

Christmas Day
We had a great Christmas this year. We woke up and got straight to getting some things ready for breakfast while the girls slept in. They are little angels and we had to wake them up at like 7:30 or we would have been late to breakfast at Justin's sister's house. Justin had offered to make biscuits and gravy for the first time so he had already made the dough and was getting ready to make the gravy and bake the biscuits. I decided to make a little sweet treat because I had seen someone post about this easy cherry cheese Danish shaped like a candy cane. It used crescent rolls and was super easy and turned out really good. Justin's biscuits and gravy also turned out really good. After we woke the girls up we had them open presents from us (Santa). They were so cute and Aspen wanted to open every one of her presents once she unwrapped them. Once we got done with that we headed over to Justin's sister's house to have breakfast with his family. Our niece's son was in town and he is the same age as Aspen so it was really fun for all of them to play together. Breakfast was delicious and we ended up staying there all day. We did not plan to but we just ended up getting caught up and staying. Aspen didn't even take a nap and she was fine. Everly baked muffins with her Aunt Christy and we all just hung out and caught up with each other. We accidentally missed dinner at my sister's but other than that mistake, it was a really great Christmas day with family.
Aspen and I both loved our gifts.
