Sephora Play!: January

Yay! I got my January Sephora Play last week and it is another great one. This month's theme is "Beaty, Set, Go" and includes products to refresh your beauty routine before, during and after workouts. I love this because I workout 5-6 days a week. I have been loving the Sephora Play box and this month did not let down. I am super excited about the Frixtion Stick because it is awesome and gentle enough to use daily as well as the Clinique almost lipstick in Black Honey because people swear by how well this works with all skin tones. I am also really excited about the Ouai treatment mask because I would probably never buy this (I don't spend a lot of money on hair products) so it is really fun to try. I just love the packaging each month, too. So fun!

Always love moisturizer samples and while this fragrance is a little more floral that I tend to be drawn to, it is nice for work.

Awards Assembly

Last Friday we headed to Everly's school around lunch time for her 2nd semester Awards Assembly. We got an email that she would be receiving an award and it worked out that I was able to go. Everly did not know that we would be there so it was fun to surprise her. Justin used his lunch break to meet Aspen and I there. I had a surprise cookie in my purse to keep Aspen busy and it worked pretty well. Everly ended up receiving an award from the music teacher. Last semester she received one from the art teacher. It was funny because later that night she was singing a song with her sister and she totally added some flare and held the notes longer and we were like, ohhhh that's why you received a music award, haha. It was a fun little visit and we are very proud of our little Kindergartener.

Friday Zoo Day

Last Friday I had the day off from work so I decided to take advantage of the morning and take Aspen to the zoo. On a whim, I called my sister and decided to take my nephew Teddy as well since he doesn't have preschool on Fridays. It ended up being a really fun morning. Teddy and Aspen have an interesting relationship. They don't not get along, but they also don't play together like Ted and Everly or Aspen and Mae. They just coexist, haha. I kept trying to get them to hold hands but they wouldn't do it. We got to see the giraffes, elephant, jaguars, bear, spider monkeys, orangutans and komodo dragon. It started to rain while we were visiting the dragon so we decided to head out before it came down too hard. Here are a few pictures from the morning and a little video.

Disney on Ice: World of Enchantment

For Christmas my mom bought the girls tickets to see Disney on Ice and the show was last night. It ended up working out well because I had Friday off from work so it didn't matter that we were out a little later than normal because I could let the girls sleep in. I met Justin after work at our usual area around 7th ave and McDowell because they have lots of food options there. We both ate at habit burger grill because we rarely eat burgers anymore. It was less than 10 minutes away from the arena and we had no trouble finding parking although there was a really long line to get in through security. I think they knew it was long though and started the show a couple of minutes late. The show included scenes from Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Cars and Frozen so it would have been good for boys and girls. The Toy Story part ended up being kind of long. I took Everly to get a snow cone and she was like, when are the princesses coming? Toy Story has been on for hours. I was like, okay it hasn't been hours, haha, but it will be over soon. Frozen was still a huge hit. Everyone was cheering during it. Aspen was actually not feeling well but I took her to get a toy and when she heard scenes from Frozen she got all excited. Then during the Frozen scenes she fell asleep on Justin, but I am not complaining. One year we went and all she wanted to do was run around and it was difficult so while I would have rather she felt better, at least she was just chill sitting in our laps. Everly had a lot of fun and overall it was a really fun night. Here are a few pictures and a video:

A Quick Visit from Grandpa

This week my dad was in town for a few days for work so we made an ice cream date so that we would get to see him. He was only here for a couple of days during the week and he is usually really busy with work while he is here so we tried to keep it simple and just meet for ice cream. My sister met us there as well so that he would be able to see them, too. The kids were all excited to see each other because we really don't go out much during the week. Cam was also really exited to get some ice cream and immediately sat himself down at the table upon walking in. Even Nora snuck a few bites of ice cream. Everly was an ice cream monster and basically ate an entire 2 scoop sundae BY HER SELF. Girl loves her dessert. My dad was in Japan over Christmas so we were able to give him his Christmas present as well so it was really good to see him. I am glad we were all able to meet up while he was here!

Baby Boy Bakery We Cook Kit

After Christmas I got an email that we could try out the Baby Boy Bakery We Cook Kit and just pay the shipping so we decided to do it. The We Cook Kit is a monthly subscription box with an original recipe and coordinating exclusive tools designed around creating memories in the kitchen with your child. Everly actually got some baking supplies for Christmas from her aunt and really loves helping out in the kitchen. She loved opening the box and going through all of the supplies and wanted to We headed out to Sprouts and picked up some of the ingredients that we didn't have, but we actually had most of them. We stopped by the park on our way home just to get some wiggles out before baking. Aspen is obsessed with swinging and Everly is killing it on the monkey bars. I got all of the ingredients ready for Everly and she helped grease the pan and mix up all of the ingredients. She of course had to sneak a couple of almonds and chocolate chips before adding them in. After they baked and cooled she loved using the cookie cutters to cut them into small shapes. She also loved using the dipper tool to drizzle on the icing. She bagged some up to share with her cousins and sealed them with the cute stickers. It was a really fun activity and I think they taste great too. If you were thinking about trying it out, we really enjoyed it but you do have to buy the ingredients so keep that in mind.
