Friday Zoo Day!

Last Friday I was off from work so my sister and I took the kids to the zoo. We got there at like 7:30 so that we didn't die too much from the heat. We actually had a really good day. All the kids were pretty good and we got to see some cool stuff. We took the kids down to the playground area because Ev had been wanting to go and we got some really good pictures of the kids. After that, we headed to see the bears and stopped to see some snakes being fed. It was quite disgusting but the kids thought it was cool. After that we were ready for the splashpad. It was hot so it was busy but not too bad. The kids had a blast splashing around. They burned off some energy, we gave them some snacks and then headed out. It was a great summer morning at the Zoo.

Diamondbacks Game!

A while ago I signed up to get alerts from the AZ Diamondbacks for special student ticket pricing. Every once in a while they will send you tickets to a game that you can get tickets for $5 that day. It is not a good option if you need to plan a head for a game but it is great if you are flexible and looking to get super cheap seats. The text came in Tuesday morning for $2 tickets. I texted Justin and he was good with it so we decided to take the girls. We had been wanting to go but didn't want to spend $80 on tickets so I was super excited to be able to get 4 tickets for $8. We got the girls signed up for the kids club and they played in the kids area for a little bit shortly after we got there. After that Aspen got her popcorn and Everly got her blue icee and we met up with my sister-in-law and her friend from work that Justin also works with. We ended up staying a lot longer than I thought we would and it was a really fun night. Glad that our schedules allowed for us to be so flexible and go! Can't wait to take the girls back.

Weekend in Review

Last weekend was hot but we followed our usual tips to surviving summer in AZ so it wasn't too bad. The rules are get outside early if you are going out, stay indoors and get in the pool. I had a game Friday night and it was hot but actually not too bad. The next morning I ran 6 miles with my sister before 6 AM. It was rough, but we got it done at a decent pace. After I got home we took the girls to Home Depot and then Everly and I went to the mall after for a VIB Rouge event at Sephora. That girls is the best shopping buddy! After church on Saturday, Justin took Everly to a movie and Aspen and I got the grocery shopping done. Even though it was just grocery shopping, I love having 1 on 1 time with Aspen. Sunday morning the girls had a swim lesson and it was the first one I was able to attend. It was pretty hard for Aspen but Everly did great. Aspen needs to work on getting more calm and Everly just needs to keep on building her confidence. Sunday afternoon I met some friends for rock climbing and dinner. Everly went shopping with my sisters and then Justin took the girls to Sunday dinner at my sister's house. It was my second time rock climbing and I am getting better. It is hard for me, but a lot of fun. I need to take Everly some day but I think Justin would really enjoy it too. It was a great end to the weekend to have some girl time and I am so lucky to have met these girls this past year!

Home Depot Workshop June 2017

This past weekend we took the girls to the June Home Depot Kids Workshop. The project this month was a tic-tac-toe game and storage box. When I first told Everly what the project was she got kind of mad. She doesn't like that I don't let her win tic-tac-toe. I probably should start letting her win some so she doesn't get too defeated! We got to Home Depot early and it still was super crazy busy by the time we left. Aspen got really into her painting and Everly did great as well. This was also Everly's 25th workshop so she got a special "25" pin after she was done. That is over 2 years of workshops so it is kind of a big deal. The project ended up being really cute and would probably make a great game to travel with!

Darling VoxBox

Last week I received my first Darling VoxBox from Influenster. It is a company that provided products for you to try out complimentary. It is completely free so I figured I would try it out. My first impression was that it was kind of a random box. There are lots of different products in here (food, beauty, kids). Other than that I think it is a cool concept. Hopefully eventually I get more makeup/beauty products to try out but it was still fun to try. I don't take a daily vitamin but I did try the energy gummies. They are very sweet but not too bad. I am excited to try the texture spracy from Eva NYC because I recently got the conditioner from that brand and I really like it. I am excited to try the chocolate cake for one because who doesn't love cake? I had never heard of Live Clean before but I like that it is gentle and recently saw it on sale at my grocery store. We don't use country crock butter but my family does so I will probably give it to my sister!

Can't wait to see what I get next time!
