Weekend in Review

Last weekend was good and long, despite getting a little sinus infection. Saturday morning I met my mom and sister for a quick hike at Pinnacle Peak. We hadn't been to this trail since early last summer so it was nice to be back. We run most of it so it ends up being pretty challenging. We had a busy morning so we finished quickly and grabbed a coffee before getting home. Justin went with Everly to Home Depot that morning while Aspen and I went to Teddy's soccer game. He is in rough stage right now with soccer. He was being ultra-sensitive despite the fact that he is really good at soccer. His last game is tomorrow so it will be good for him to get a break. We went directly from Teddy's game to Everly's game. She did AMAZING. She worked so hard and scored 6 goals. She played great defense and even took a hard fall but told me she was fine when I went over to check on her. She had been playing a little shy up until now but this game she really worked hard and we were so proud of her. The team she played wasn't that good so I have been trying to explain to her that even if she doesn't score any goals, we are still proud of her when she tries hard. We will see how it goes at her game tomorrow. If nothing else, she is really excited to play each week and I am really happy about that. At her practice this week, the had a little scrimmage and Justin said all of the girls wanted to be on her team. On Sunday morning Justin had a run so I took the girls and met my sister and a friend at the Zoo. Donuts were obviously involved. The morning was nice and cool and probably our last cool morning at the Zoo. Kind of sad, but also kind of exciting because that means it is almost splash pad season. Sunday night Justin and I dropped the girls off for dinner at my sister's house and headed to Scottsdale to meet his family for a happy hour. His sister recently got engadged so we surprised her with a happy hour. It was really fun to have everyone together, I just wish I hadn't been so congested! It was really fun to have all of Justin's family together. There are 5 kids in his family as well so it is no easy feat but always a good time. It was also nice to see some of his cousins and his aunt and uncle that we haven't seen in a while. We are so happy for his sister Christi and can't wait for all of the wedding fun to come. I love weddings.
